What Work Do You Do?

Before you even begin, ask yourself what work you will be doing. Do you need tons of space? Do you need a desk, computer? This will give you an idea of how much space you will need. After all, you will be taking over a portion of your home for work, so you better be sure it will fit.

Find The Space

Once you know the amount of space you need, it’s time to find the space. A guest room turned office works great, you want to make sure there is lots of natural light. You may need to do some serious decluttering, or even look into storing some items away. Space is rare, and you need as much as you can get. Once you have a space defined, get to work and start clearing things out of the way.

Make it a Place to Love

You are going to be spending a lot of time in this room, so make it a place that you will love. Change the wall colour, change the furniture, get good lighting and maybe some decent speakers. If you hate the room, you are going to dread working each day, making it harder to be productive.

Keep it Clean

The worst thing to happen to a work place is clutter, so make sure that you are keeping up on your cleaning. Don’t let your space become a mess, once you get into a routine, stick to it. A cluttered space is a cluttered mind.
