Shingle damage is a tough thing to see. The best way to tell if your shingles need repair is if the colour seems to be fading. Fading colour means they are coming to their life’s end and are needing replacement. If you let them fall off, you are exposing the underlying wood to moisture and the elements, which will cause massive problems’ down the road.

Flashing Damage

Flashing is the metal that goes around your home. Mainly used to divert water away from the foundation, it’s an integral part of your roofs’ health. Many roofing issues stem from a problem with the flashing. This should be inspected about twice a year. We don’t recommend inspecting it on a rainy day, but rather choose a dry day and pour water down the different parts of the flashing to ensure it’s working well.

Having a healthy roof is important, and a bad one will certainly affect your home’s value if you are trying to sell.
